“L” – A to Z Challenge

 

Life. I remind myself quite often that I am living the good life. I have a sign in my office to keep this thought before me. I thank and praise God each time I think of the goodness in my life.

 

lBut I realize that life isn’t good for everyone. I realize that some are hurting. I realize that some have no hope. I realize that circumstances have drained them of every ounce of positive thinking.

 

If you find yourself in this situation and live in my area, I would like to invite you to an event this evening that just might help you to see that, even when life throws you a curve ball, you are able to lean upon God and hold tightly to His goodness. “Life” happens, the good and the bad. So how can we make it day after day when life is difficult?

 

We can hold on to God’s grace

“My (God’s) grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 – NIV)

 

We can lean into His strength

“That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:10 – NIV)

 

We can find contentment in God

“…I have learned to be content, whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation whether living well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him (Christ) who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:11a-13 – NIV)

 

We can praise God for His faithfulness and compassion

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your (God’s) faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23 – NIV)

 

Life can be difficult and if you find yourself in that situation today, please let me know. I’d love to be praying for you and your situation.

 

Please know that God cares for you deeply. He asks you to “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7 – NIV) Why not let Him carry your burden? A life in God’s arms is pretty amazing. Isn’t it time you started living?
