“Get Yourself Ready: A Study on 1 & 2 Peter”

If you recall, the reason I stopped writing on my blog each day was so that I could devote my thought processes to writing a Bible study on 1 and 2 Peter. I knew that I would learn along the way, but I really am amazed at what God has shown me through this process.

???????????????????????????????From the moment I started putting words on paper, I felt God’s Spirit leading and directing. The Holy Spirit helped me to recall things I’d studied. The Holy Spirit moved my creative mind to reach a little deeper. The Holy Spirit enabled me to complete this work.

And now, this study is out there. There is a group of ladies who are digging into God’s Word to see what I had to say about these eight chapters of the Bible. Exposed. Vulnerable. Wide-open. That’s how I feel about this step of faith.

But as I have written more and more about Peter since printing the study, I am encouraged by Jesus’ words to Peter in Luke 5. “Do not be afraid.” (Luke 5:10 – NIV) And it’s as if I can hear Jesus speak these words to me.

“Donna, do not be afraid.”

Has Jesus called you to do something you’ve never done before? Something outside your comfort zone? Something you can’t imagine yourself doing? If so, go for it. He is asking for a purpose. He is nudging for a reason. He is pushing you to bigger and greater things. Take the first step and trust that Jesus knows what He is doing.

Do not be afraid.

I know that these ladies who are working through Get Yourself Ready: A Study on 1 & 2 Peter will be kind and generous in their review of my work, but what I pray is that they are touched by what Jesus has to say to them. I pray that they will find areas of their lives that, when touched are transformed. I pray that they will come to know the urgency with which we are to live.

I look forward to the day when I am able to share Get Yourself Ready: A Study on 1 & 2 Peter with you. It won’t be long, I promise. But until then…

Grace and peace be yours in abundance,

Donna
