“When We All Get to Heaven” – Monday Musical Musings

Last week was awesome! I had the opportunity to see my parents, my sister and her family, my son and his family (including my precious new grandson!) and lots of friends that I hadn’t seen in many years.

IMAG1492My visit ended at the funeral of a faithful believer. What a glorious celebration of her life and seeing the impact that she had on so many was a beautiful tribute.

They sang “When We All Get to Heaven” at the end of the service and it was a precious reminder of what awaits each of us at the end of this life. But these lyrics also remind us that there is plenty for us to do while waiting for that moment.

So, as you read through these lyrics and listen to the song through the link below, take a moment to see how you are living. Are you true to God’s Word? Are you faithful in your walk with the Lord? Do you trust and serve Jesus every day? These are a few of the important things we are to do as we walk this pilgrim pathway.

And you may want to remember some of those faithful believers who have already made this transition to glory. Spend some time thinking of the reasons they were so impactful upon your life. Thank God for the faithful lives they lived here. And then, as you sing this song, think of the many who you will spend eternity with. What a day it will be, when we all get to heaven!

“When We All Get to Heaven”[i]

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,
Sing His mercy and His grace.
In the mansions bright and blessèd
He’ll prepare for us a place.

Refrain

When we all get to Heaven,
What a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus,
We’ll sing and shout the victory!

While we walk the pilgrim pathway,
Clouds will overspread the sky;
But when traveling days are over,
Not a shadow, not a sigh.

(Refrain)

Let us then be true and faithful,
Trusting, serving every day;
Just one glimpse of Him in glory
Will the toils of life repay.

(Refrain)

Onward to the prize before us!
Soon His beauty we’ll behold;
Soon the pearly gates will open;
We shall tread the streets of gold.

(Refrain)
