The plot<\/b>: Destroy God\u2019s plan to save mankind.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The scene<\/b>: Crowds of people gather to witness the death of criminals. Men who had gone against the law. Two against the laws of man. One against the laws of God. At least this is what the crowd believes.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Other occurrences<\/b>: Darkness covers the land for three hours; an earthquake; rocks are split in two; tombs break open; the curtain of the temple is torn in two from top to bottom.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The truth<\/b>: Mary, Jesus\u2019 mother, knew for certain this was God\u2019s Son. A few of Jesus\u2019 followers stood nearby and believed that Jesus was God\u2019s Son. Upon seeing all that had occurred, a Roman Centurion confesses, \u201cSurely this man was the Son of God!\u201d<\/i> Jesus commits His spirit to His Father.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Our truth<\/b>: Jesus Christ was and is the Son of God. The One who took our sin that day and bore it so that we might have forgiveness of that sin. Without Calvary, we would not have hope, salvation, or eternal life.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cSurely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows,<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
yet we considered him stricken by God,<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
smitten by him, and afflicted.<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
But he was pierced for our transgressions,<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
he was crushed for our iniquities;<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
and by his wounds we are healed.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
