This morning I will be sharing a blog post from my A to Z challenge. The post is about a shoe collection my Mom has. I know you\u2019ll enjoy it.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This morning as we head to worship, perhaps we could revisit Moses\u2019 encounter with God in Exodus 3. Moses found himself in God\u2019s holiness and was asked to remove his shoes (Exodus 3:5).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What is it you do to recognize that you are in God\u2019s holiness? I know of people who remove their shoes during worship. That in itself is a good reminder. I don\u2019t have an answer or even a suggestion, but I do believe God would like to acknowledge His holiness as Moses did.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So today, let\u2019s be reminded that we are standing on holy ground when we worship. We are in God\u2019s presence and that makes it holy. I can\u2019t wait to be in His presence!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Just the Right Shoe<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"DSC02256\"<\/a>I\u2019ve collected several items through the years. As a child I collected staples\u2026I\u2019m not sure what that says about me. I\u2019ve collected angel figurines, houses, farming tools, dishes, Christmas d\u00e9cor, and anything with the word \u201cjoy\u201d in or on it.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Other people I\u2019ve known had other collections like rocks, salt and pepper shakers, fossils, Precious Moments figurines and art work to name a few.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"DSC02260\"<\/a>My Mom has a few collections. Miniature oil cans, thimbles, Bybee pottery, and my favorite, Just the Right Shoe figurines by Raine.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

These shoes are miniature replica of interesting and beautiful shoes. Some I\u2019ve love to have in my wardrobe. The pictures are some of my favorites. But the thing is they are only the right shoe.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There are several passages in the book of Psalm that tell us about the right hand or right arm of God. We are reminded of the power, and the works of the right hand or arm of God. Let\u2019s see what is said.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We find joy and eternal pleasures at the right hand of God.<\/strong> \u201cYou have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.\u201d<\/em> (Psalm 16:11)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We find salvation at the right hand of God.<\/strong> Psalm 17:7 tells us, \u201cShow the wonder of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We find victory at the right hand of God.<\/strong> \u201cYou give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great.\u201d<\/em> (Psalm 18:35)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And in Psalm 44:3 we see, \u201cIt was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And also Psalm 45:4. \u201cIn your majesty ride forth victoriously in behalf of truth, humility and righteousness; let your right hand display awesome deeds.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We find stability at the right hand of God.<\/strong> Psalm 63:8 says, \u201cMy soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And Psalm 73:23 reminds us, \u201cYet I am always with you, you hold me by my right hand.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

In Psalm 139:9-10 we see, \u201cIf I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

We find amazement of mighty works at the right hand of God.<\/strong> Psalm 98:1 says, \u201cSing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cShouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous; \u2018The Lord\u2019s right hand has done mighty things!\u2019\u201d<\/em> (Psalm 118:15)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I think I\u2019d like to sit a while at God\u2019s right hand. To see and hear and feel and know all that He can accomplish single handedly.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It has been fun, as Mom\u2019s friends and family, to add to her shoe collection. Shoes that remind us of something or someone. Shoes to commemorate a special group of people. Shoes that are whimsical or beautiful. But in the end, they are just for pleasure. They are pretty little things for everyone to gaze upon.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

God\u2019s right arm is not like that. It is useful. It has purpose. Are you within the comfort of His right arm? If not, why not? Wrapped inside, you\u2019ll find everything you could ever hope for.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
