Sometimes we find ourselves doing this same thing in our lives. Searching for that \u201cone thing\u201d that will satisfy. Seeking the perfect \u201cone thing\u201d that will bring everything else into alignment. Or perhaps it\u2019s the \u201cnext thing\u201d that will make your life right.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
When we live our lives in such a way, we are always going to be searching. Always looking. Always seeking. Always pursuing.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And sometimes in this pursuit, we miss out on the best we could have hoped for.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s take a look at what God thinks is worthwhile of our pursuit. The things He believes we should be seeking.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Obviously, God wants us to look for Him. Psalm 105:3-4 (NIV) says it this way. \u201cGlory in his name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
And Psalm 119:2 (NIV) also says, \u201cBlessed are they who keep his statues and seek him with all their heart.\u201d <\/em>We must seek God above all else. The rewards are amazing!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
And what else should we seek? Here are a few.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cTurn from evil and do good; seek peace<\/strong> and pursue it.\u201d<\/em> (Psalm 34:14 \u2013 NIV)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\u201cHe who seeks good<\/strong> finds goodwill, but evil comes to him who searches for it.\u201d<\/em> (Proverbs 11:27 \u2013 NIV)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\u201cThe Lord detests the way of the wicked but he loves those who pursue righteousness<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em> (Proverbs 15:9 \u2013 NIV)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\u201cHe who pursues righteousness<\/strong> and love<\/strong> finds life, prosperity and honor.\u201d<\/em> (Proverbs 21:21 \u2013 NIV)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\u201cBut seek first his kingdom<\/strong> and his righteousness<\/strong> and all these things will be given to you as well.\u201d<\/em> (Matthew 6:33 \u2013 NIV)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\u201cNobody should seek his own good, but the good of others<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em> (1 Corinthians 10:24 \u2013 NIV)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\u201cBut you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness<\/strong>, godliness<\/strong>, faith<\/strong>, love<\/strong>, endurance<\/strong> and gentleness<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em> (1 Timothy 6:11 \u2013 NIV)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\u201cFlee from evil desire of youth, and pursue righteousness<\/strong>, faith<\/strong>, love<\/strong> and peace<\/strong>, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.\u201d<\/em> (2 Timothy 2:22 \u2013 NIV)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
This is quite a list. Perhaps if we pursue or seek all of these things, we won\u2019t have time to seek our selfish desires.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
As we seek God first and foremost, those remaining should be easy to find. They are all qualities of God that keep directing us to Him.<\/p>\n

<\/a>I found two lizards that worked, but they weren\u2019t quite right. Then I finally found a bag of 12 plastic lizards that seemed to be okay, so I purchased the bag, brought them home and then gave some of them permanent homes. That left nine lizards.<\/p>\n
