<\/a>As I read through my little novella about Mary by Francine Rivers, I was impressed once again by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit. God\u2019s Spirit came upon Mary and she became pregnant with God\u2019s Son.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Through the normal months of pregnancy, God\u2019s Son developed and grew within Mary\u2019s womb. And as any pregnant woman has experienced, there are times when it feels like the baby has taken over. The kicks, the moves, the presence. It\u2019s impossible to forget that there is a baby within.<\/p>\n

Now take a look at the words of this song.<\/p>\n

Bridge <\/p>\n I don\u2019t know if the songwriter intended for the parallel of these lyrics to mimic the Mary\u2019s overshadowing, but I find it interesting that as we sing the words to this song, we are asking for God\u2019s Spirit to overcome us. We are asking for God\u2019s Spirit to fill us.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But you see, it\u2019s not enough just to have God\u2019s Spirit within us. We must allow the Holy Spirit to develop and grow within us to where we are completely consumed by His presence. This song helps us to see that it is possible.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Maybe I\u2019m reaching for this special meaning. Maybe Mary\u2019s experience was not a foretelling of what each follower of Jesus would experience. But maybe it was. All that I know is that I don\u2019t want a day to go by, no, a moment to go by that I don\u2019t reflect upon the Holy Spirit that is within me. And like Mary, I want to say eagerly and without hesitation, \u201cI am the Lord\u2019s servant.\u201d <\/em>(Luke 1:38 \u2013 NIV)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As you listen to this beautiful song this morning, think back to that moment in time when Mary was visited by God\u2019s messenger. Also think back to the moment you accepted Jesus as your Savior and when you were filled with God\u2019s Spirit. Allow God\u2019s Spirit to fill you with renewed awareness and presence.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
