my<\/strong> rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.\u201d<\/em> I have passed over that word many times.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Since living in Colorado, I\u2019ve witnessed many rainbows. Some have been full rainbows, some partial and even double rainbows are plentiful in this land of big sky. Now I still am amazed when I see a rainbow, but not nearly as much as I should.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Why? Because each rainbow is God\u2019s rainbow! They all belong to Him. Each rainbow is a reminder to Him of His covenant with mankind. And each rainbow should be a reminder to me that God placed that rainbow there for remembrance.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
That one little word sure holds powerful meaning.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And here is the best news of all. This is the word God uses when He talks about us. We belong to Him. We are His. Take a look at this verse.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cBut now, this is what the Lord says\u2014he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: \u2018Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine<\/strong>.\u2019\u201d<\/em> (Isaiah 43:1 \u2013 NIV)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
You belong to God and He calls you by name. That makes you pretty special!<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
If God\u2019s rainbow is to be a reminder of His covenant, then I believe we can use that beautiful vision in the sky to remind us of our covenant with God. Just as we are to remember Jesus as we commune with Him each Lord\u2019s Day, each rainbow is a reminder that God loves you and that you belong to Him. Each rainbow is a reminder of the commitment you\u2019ve made to God. To love, to serve, to worship, to remain faithful, to seek, to share and to anything else you\u2019ve committed to with God. It\u2019s God\u2019s way of reminding you that \u201cyou are not your own.\u201d<\/em> (1 Corinthians 6:19 \u2013 NIV) You are His!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
God\u2019s rainbow. How very special!<\/p>\n
