<\/a>I\u2019ve loved listening to Scripture for years because I hear things that I don\u2019t read. Well let me tell you that I write things that I don\u2019t read or hear!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve been writing Scripture from the New American Standard Bible version and it is different from my usual NIV wording. So I\u2019ve found that when I repeat a word over and over again in a chapter or book of the Bible, I realize that there is some importance that goes along with that word.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
While writing the Book of Ephesians, I continually wrote the word \u201caccord.\u201d In these six chapters, some form of the word \u201caccord\u201d appears fifteen times in the NASB. So today, I want us to look at these fifteen uses of this root word. Ready?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Ephesians 1:5<\/p>\n
We have been adopted by God according<\/strong> to His kind will<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 1:7<\/p>\n We have been redeemed according<\/strong> to the riches of God\u2019s grace<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 1:9<\/p>\n According<\/strong> to God\u2019s kind intention, we know the mystery of His will<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 1:11<\/p>\n We have obtained an inheritance according<\/strong> to God\u2019s purpose<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 1:19<\/p>\n We are recipients of God\u2019s great power in accordance<\/strong> with His working<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 2:2<\/p>\n When we walked according<\/strong> to the course of the world, we were dead in sin<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 3:7<\/p>\n Paul was made a minister according<\/strong> to God\u2019s grace and according<\/strong> to His power<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 3:11<\/p>\n God\u2019s wisdom has been made known through the Church in accordance<\/strong> with His eternal purpose which He carried out in Jesus Christ<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 3:16<\/p>\n We are granted God\u2019s power according<\/strong> to the riches of His glory<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesian 3:20<\/p>\n According<\/strong> to the power that works within us, God is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 4:7<\/p>\n Grace has been given according<\/strong> to the measure of Christ\u2019s gift<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 4:16<\/p>\n According<\/strong> to the proper working of each part, the body of Christ works together<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 4:22<\/p>\n We are to lay aside our former way of life which was in accordance<\/strong> with the lusts of deceit<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 4:29<\/p>\n Each word that comes from our mouth is to be edifying according<\/strong> to the need of the moment<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ephesians 6:5<\/p>\n Slaves are to be obedient to their masters according<\/strong> to the flesh<\/p>\n <\/p>\n While I cannot say this word is more important than the theme of \u201cin Christ\u201d in the Book of Ephesians, I can say that this is an important word for us to consider. As you go through your day today, I pray that you will remember what you are to do according to God\u2019s Word.
