“Happy Day” – Musical Musings in March

I love singing this song. The lyrics, the music. I’m drawn to it. But what I love more is watching kids as they sing this song.

IMAG1492There are motions they add to this moving tune and they jump, spin and tell the story through the motions as much as they do the music and lyrics.

According to this song writer, there are many happy days in the life of a believer. Like the resurrection of Jesus! Sins washed away. Transformation. Life. Seeing Jesus face-to-face. Endless joy. Perfect peace. These do make for happy days!

So today, if you know the motions to this song (which I really don’t think I do), join in as you listen to this beautiful song of the happiest of all days…the day you accepted Jesus as your Savior!

“Happy Day”

Verse 1:
The greatest day in history, Death is beaten
You have rescued me
Sing it out Jesus is alive
The empty cross, The empty grave
Life eternal You have won the day
Shout it out Jesus is alive
He’s alive

Chorus:
Oh happy day, happy day
You washed my sin away
Oh happy day, happy day
I’ll never be the same
Forever I am changed

Verse 2:
When I stand, in that place
Free at last, meeting face to face
I am Yours Jesus You are mine
Endless joy, perfect peace
Earthly pain finally will cease
Celebrate Jesus is alive
He’s alive

Bridge:
Oh what a glorious day
What a glorious way
That You have saved me
Oh what a glorious day
What a glorious name[i]
