“One More Time” – Monday Musical Musings

It’s Monday. There’s a lot going on for me this week, at work and at home. But in the midst of it all, I am reminded, yet again, to stop and remember what my life is all about.

I must remember Who I serve and belong to and I also must remember why I’m here.

IMAG1492It’s easy for us to get too busy with life. I suspect that why I love routine so much. Waking up at 5:30 am each morning ensures that I will have my quiet time with God. It’s not easy on some days, but I know the value of this practice and regardless of what’s going on in my life, I’m up and with God.

Last week in my daily devotion reading, I read a beautiful passage from Isaiah 43. Take a look at it from The Voice version. “See, you have nothing to fear. I, who made you, will take you back. I have chosen you, named you as My own. When you face stormy seas I will be there with you with endurance and calm; you will not be engulfed in raging rivers. If it seems like you’re walking through fire with flames licking at your limbs, keep going; you won’t be burned. Because I, the Eternal One, am your God. I am the Holy One of Israel, and I will save you.” (Isaiah 43:1b-3a – The Voice)

This passage goes on with beautiful words of encouragement from God. His love, His Name, His deliverance, His truth. These are all good words to remember as we go about our busy lives.

I heard this Gospel melody a while back and the words captured my attention. It is also a reminder to spend time with God and to praise Him one more time for all that He’s done in our lives.

I pray that you will find a piece of these words that will speak to your heart today. I pray that you will run to Jesus if you need to be with Him. And above all, I pray that you know that you’re not on this journey alone.

“One More Time”

Verse 1

Today I faced a mountain, once again it seemed so tall

I tried to climb but it seemed I would surely fall

So I knelt and called on Jesus and just as always I felt His presence

His hand of mercy lifted me just in time

Chorus:

I want to thank Him and I want to praise Him

His grace has been sufficient

And like before He’s given victory one more time

He was always standing by my side

When the valley was low, when the river was wide

So I want to thank Him and I want to praise Him one more time

Verse 2

Looking back upon this journey since the day I first met Him

Many times His love and mercy has rescued me

So again I come before Him

One more time I’ll stand to praise Him

For all His blessings, for He has been so good to me[i]
