“Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)” – Monday Musical Musings

The first blog post I wrote was about fear. If you missed it, you can read it here. I had been afraid to put my writing out there for everyone to read. I had been afraid that I wouldn’t have enough to write about. I had been afraid that I would falter and not be able to keep the commitment.

I must admit, it hasn’t been easy at times, but I also must admit that I had nothing to fear. Not because I had all of the ability or because I’m all that great, but because I chose to give Full Measure of Joy to God. From the beginning, it was His to do with as He wanted.

I guess He’s been pleased with this little blog since I have been writing for 572 days and haven’t run out of things to say. God helped me to conquer my fear of sharing my passion with others.

This world offers plenty for us to be fearful of. However, for those of us who have chosen Jesus as our Savior, we have a great and powerful God who is standing before, beside and behind us. We have absolutely nothing to fear.

Chris Tomlin wrote about my God in a way that I only related to the Old Testament. When I think and believe that God has an angel army at His call to protect those who are fearful, it helps me to take God out of the little box I have put Him in. Everything becomes possible when my faith allows God to do His mighty work.

So today, if you are fearful, this song is for you. Listen to it with great anticipation of what God can (and will) do in your life when you give your fear to Him. Be encouraged. Be courageous. Be strong. God’s angel army is by your side.

Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)

You hear me when I call
You are my morning song
Though darkness fills the night
It cannot hide the light
Whom shall I fear?

You crush the enemy
Underneath my feet
You are my sword and shield
Though trouble linger still
Whom shall I fear?

Chorus:
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies is always by my side
The One who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies is always by my side

My strength is in Your name
For You alone can save
You will deliver me
Yours is the victory
Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?

And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in Your hands
I’m holding on to Your promises
You are faithful
You are faithful[i]
