Something New

There’s something new going on…my new website. A fresh, new look. A new host for my blog. It’s all new!

What isn’t new is the message. It will continue to be exactly what it has always been. God’s message. That will never change.

So here we go…God offers something new to those who seek Him and desire to do His will. Let’s see what He has to offer.

I might start with the new way, the living way to God. Jesus became that way. “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood off Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God…” (Hebrews 10:19-21 – NIV)

David tells us that God will give us a new song. “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.” (Psalm 40:3 – NIV)

Ezekiel speaks of a new heart and a new spirit. “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 36:26 – NIV)

In Romans, Paul says we can live a new life. “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:4 – NIV)

We are a new creation according to 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV). “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

Paul tells the Ephesian Church of a new attitude and a new self. “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:22-24 – NIV)

And finally we see in Revelation that we have a new name. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.” (Revelation 2:16 – NIV)

There is a whole lot of newness going on here. And it’s all because of Jesus. Everything I do is because of the new life I’ve received through Jesus Christ. And the same can be true for you as you approach the throne of grace and accept Jesus as your Savior.

The newness may wear off of this new website, but my newness in Christ never will. It will be fresh and new each day.

You may find a few new items on this website that I didn’t have with the old blog. I look forward to sharing recipes, an occasional newsletter, a featured article, and perhaps some other things. But for now I must learn how to do this blog posting thing all over again.

I am looking forward to this continued ministry of sharing God’s message. I’m glad you’re joining me on this “new” adventure!

Grace and peace be yours in abundance,

Donna
