After a Sunday filled with beautiful music, my mind continued to return to today’s melody. I love worship songs that continually bring our attention to the One who deserves our praise. And “Jesus, Only Jesus” is one such song.

There are several questions asked in this tune and the answer is always Jesus, only Jesus. We are reminded that Jesus, only Jesus is the answer to any question. Even the tough questions of this life. With Jesus’ help, guidance, and presence, we are able to make it through anything.

There are other great tunes of the past that bring this same conclusion to light. Think about “A Mighty Fortress is Our God.” There is a phrase in that song that states, “One little word shall fell him.” Jesus, only Jesus is the one who is able to defeat the evil one. When we come to understand that Jesus is all we need, that Jesus is enough, our lives we begin to live Jesus’ words in John 10:10 (NIV). “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Jesus, only Jesus is able to fill our lives beyond our wildest imagination.

It’s in that moment when we believe the words of this song. Jesus stands alone. I stand amazed.
