Journaling Bible

It’s finally available. A back-ordered item that I have been waiting on for about five months. Shows my patience, right?

DSC02392mWell maybe not.

The item that is finally available is a journaling Bible. These Bibles have become so popular that they haven’t been available anywhere. Not on any website or in any store that I’ve visited over the past five months! You cannot imagine the excitement I felt when I received the email.

This is what I’ve learned from this experience. I believe people are getting into God’s Word like never before. This Bible journaling craze has gone way beyond art. It has opened the pages of Scripture in a way that is fun and uplifting and it’s all over the internet. So many people are seeing Scripture in a beautiful, new way. It’s pretty remarkable!

But another thing I’ve learned is that now that my journaling Bible is on its way, I don’t know when I’ll have the time to actually sit and enjoy God’s Word in this way. Don’t get me wrong, I’m reading and studying Scripture every single day. I’m gaining wisdom and insight. I glimpse God’s character every time I open the pages of the Bibles I use on a regular basis (which is four by the way). I already get up at 5:00 am every day to spend time in God’s presence and Word. I just don’t know how to add this piece to my life.

But oh how I desire to sit with my colored pencils and doodle on the pages of my newest addition to my Bible collection. Oh how I crave adding my God-thoughts to this special Bible. Someday.

How and when and how often are you reading God’s precious Words? What are you doing to make Scripture vivid and alive? In what ways are you applying God’s guidelines and precepts to your life?

Remember:

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 – NIV)

“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to diving soul and spirt, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 – NIV)

May the Word of the Lord bless you today!

Grace and peace be yours in abundance,

Donna
